‘Awesome Tech Gift’ returns for summer 2018

Vodafone are offering all new broadband customers the chance to own the latest piece of the tech, worth up to £199.99, in their revived ‘Awesome Tech Gift’ campaign. 

From the 1st of August 2018, new and renewing broadband customers* can choose from a GoPro Hero, which retails at £199.99, an Amazon Echo worth £89.99, a Fitbit Charge 2 worth £139.99 or a Sonos Play:1, which retails at £149 and was the most popular reward in last year’s promotion.  

Anyone who purchases a new 12-month or 18-month Vodafone Broadband package online, in-store or via phone during the promotional period qualify for the free gift. 

Customer journey

  • Customer purchases Vodafone Broadband product during the promotional period (1st August-3rd September)
  • 30 days after their broadband is activated, the customer can then register on the promotional website by entering their unique order number
  • They will then receive an email within five working days containing their gift claim code and a link to choose their gift
  • The customer then chooses their gift and enters their postage address
  • Gifts will be dispatched within 30 days 

The agency managing the entirety of the campaign, TLC Marketing, have a dedicated Customer Services team on hand to deal with any customer queries. Their hours are 9:30am – 7pm, Monday to Friday.

Callum Chapple, Senior Account Manager at TLC Marketing, said, “Last year, the ‘Awesome Tech Gift’ campaign took the market and press by storm, it was labelled ‘Broadband Deal of the Week’ by The Metro, cable.co.uk and Uswitch and even won two awards at the IPM Awards. We know that during times of economic uncertainty, customers are becoming increasingly savvy and are always on the lookout for the best offer. Last year, 86% of customers chose a technology gift over the cash-back option, disproving the belief cash-back is ‘king’ when it comes to incentivising customers. This is why Vodafone decided to revive the campaign for 2018, with even bigger tech rewards”.

The campaign is being communicated in-store and online as well as above-the-line including radio and print.

*Existing Vodafone mobile customers can choose from Superfast 1 (average speed 35mbps) which costs £24 per month with a £9.99 delivery fee or Superfast 2 (average speed 63mbps) which costs £29 per month with a £9.99 delivery fee. Customers who are new to Vodafone can choose from Superfast 1 (average speed 35mbps) which is £25 per month with a £9.99 delivery fee or Superfast 2 (average speed 63mbps) which costs £30 per month with a £9.99 delivery fee.
