Talking all things gifts, activities and events these Christmas holidays

Stuck for things to do or lost for gift ideas? TLC has you covered. Find out what the team are up to this festive break.
Simon Alderson - Creative Director
Christmas isn’t Christmas without… eating chocolate for breakfast, waiting for a lazy relative to finally get out of bed so we can open presents, spending all morning assembling complex Lego kits, remembering that turkey is actually not as good as chicken, trying to explain to kids how a fat old man can fit down a narrow chimney, discovering batteries are not included, feeling OK about getting drunk before lunch time…
All I want for Christmas is… gifts with receipts included, Duty free alcohol, World peace
Over the break you’ll find me at... a little beach house at South West Rocks
On NYE, at 9pm we head to the Bayview boat ramp for the kids fireworks, where you can get close enough to sometimes get burning fragments in your eye. Check it out 9pm is the new midnight!
Then at midnight I will be watching the fireworks on TV with a bottle of champagne in my hand, while occasionally looking out the window to see the fireworks down the hill at Palm Beach
Rachel Bozic - Client Services Manager
Gift Vouchers. Boring or useful? Boring! Cash is always more fun to spend - in a beautiful card + envelope of course
I’d be happy if someone gave me anything from Aesop for Christmas
If I come back after the break without going Glamping I won’t be happy. What is Glamping? This is Glamping
I’m making the famously delicious Bourke Street Bakery Carrot Cake for Boxing Day, You can find the recipe here
My NYE involves… Delicious food (inc organic meats on the Weber Q), great Australian wines and world-class Sydney fireworks
Ben Cox - Head of Digital
Christmas isn’t Christmas without… A whopping great big Christmas tree, a tonne of mince pies, my Dad’s mulled wine, the holiday edition of the Radio Times and Home Alone 1 & 2. On repeat.
All I want for Christmas is… To spend quality time with my family and friends, catch up on all the films I haven’t managed to see this year and – most importantly – relax.
Over the break you’ll find me chilling mainly, going to festive-y, summer-related things round town, trying (and most probably failing) to get buff in the gym. I’ll also be working on my new blog poolsidesoul.tumblr.com, a cool digi side-project for TLC Global, and breaking in my new Macbook Pro. If I’ve been a good boy this year, of course.
On NYE, I’ll be sipping champagne whilst watching the fireworks from my new gaff in The Rocks, which has an incredible view across the Harbour Bridge (and the toll bridges leading to it unfortunately!). Will no doubt make a number of empty resolutions which I’ll be revisiting at the same time next year, but the thought will be there!
However you decide to spend it, TLC would like to thank you and we hope that you have a fantastic, well deserved break.
Happy Christmas and see you in 2015!
